fun and 13.3

Well Hello There!!!

Week three is officialy in the books, and guess what, I didn't cry. What ? I know, I feel so mature.  I did swear though during the workout, that was soo uncool. My bad. I was getting mad at the double unders. Am I happy about my score ? Obviously not! I don't think I'll ever be satisfied with my scores. But that's a good thing, means I want to get better.... right ?

I didn't get a muscle up. :( But I got to the rings way ahead of last year and had fun swinging on the rings. How did I feel about not getting a muscle up ? I felt very frustrated. I know I haven't been working on it for too long but like trying and not being able to get it sucks ass. And that's a fact. So I'm still working on it and still making progress.

Yay to progress!

Speaking of progress... I GOT A STRICT PULL UP! Hells yes! Did you see the video ? no ? Well here it is ! Click here! After only three weeks with mister or should I say MASTER Sean Lind, I am now able to do a strict pull up! That is cray cray! Yay to being stronger then yesterday. And a HUGE thanks to Sean!!!!

Back to 13.3. I decided after my melt down, that I was going to have fun with the rest of the open. So I did with 13.3. And even though I wasn't satisfied with my score, I was still happy. And that's a good thing. Life lesson right here: if your not enjoying yourself, or having fun, just stop. My father is a wise man. And from now on, the rest of the open should be FUN. I will still lay it all on the floor and give it my all, but my main focus now is just enjoying it.

What I've learned from 13.3

  • 150 wall balls hurt my legs for a good 5 days... not cool
  • I should work on double unders when I'm tired, not fresh
  • I don't have muscle ups
  • My cardio still sucks
  • Thinking about resting in between wall balls just makes it longer to finish.
  • Dancing before a WOD, to call me maybe, makes the WOD wayyyyy better!
  • YUL has the best community. That's a fact. I think you all thought I was gonna get a muscle up... more then I thought I was gonna get one... That's pretty cool. 
  • Mike, your an awesome judge/coach/friend. Will you judge me for the rest of the open? 
  • Drinking alcoholic beverages after the WOD is an insane delicious thing to do. mmm Beer

I got a new PR! And that's always fun, trust me! You all know I truly hate push press. Why ? Because I can't do it. I always end up jerking and catching it, and that's not a push press. So a couple of weeks ago I got 115pounds once. And I got 115pounds three times this week! I know it's not that much, but to me it means the world. So I'm pretty happy. Yay for getting a PR during the open.

Who is ready for 13.4? Holy Balls, I don't know why, but I love it! Like truly love it! Clean and Jerks and toes to bar!!! Oh man a good mixture of a strength and a weakness. It's going to be so much fun! HELLLOOOOO FOREARMS!!!!! I'M SOOOOOO EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!!!!! GO ALL OUT!

Okay now let's talk about my personal life a little. I want to talk about karma, or something like that. Anyways. The other day I dressed up nicely, wore mascara, and actually wore boots and not my slippers to get out of the house. I decided it was a good day to go do some work in a coffee shop. Great idea. Maybe I would meet somebody, who knows. Did I ? Hells No. None of the coffee shops I went to had internet connection so I couldn't do any work. So I just went back home, and saw nobody. That sucks, for once I looked decent. We live in 2013, isn't wifi like water? But then when I'm wearing ugly sweatpants and wearing my slippers as shoes, well that's when the magic happens, every coffee shop has internet. Do you get where I'm going with this? Dammit. This sucks. What am I doing wrong? Does this only happen to me? Karma is a bitch. I don't even know what I'm saying right now... arg.

Ok done complaining now. Next week I'm off school for a week! What the hell am I going to do? Ah yes, workout. I'd like to go skiing. Oh and I have to study a little. Ok, enough, this must be boring you to death. On to the next subject.

I think I'm injured. And it sucks. Every time I go into the front rack position my left elbow hurts like a bitch. I don't know what it is... tendonitis? Tennis elbow? I really don't know. Even when there is no weight it hurts... I'm not liking this at all. I'm a nurse and I don't know what to do about this, and it's been a while. Dammit. Help? Any ideas? Nurse Jodi ?

I'm going for a run now... This is going to be interesting.

To be honest, the running isn't so bad... I mean, it's boring and all, but I feel like I'm better at it now then I was a couple of years ago. Before I couldn't run 15 minutes without being dead tired or my knee yelling at me. Now, I run a good 33 minutes and I was just a little sweaty as you can see in pic #2. I feel good! Yay for being healthier, even if my cardio still sucks, it's better then three years ago! This running thing is going to get to me one day!

Well now it's time for you to go for a run, walk, crawl... whatever your preference is.
