13.1

Hey hey!!

13.1 is done ! For those of you who don't crossfit, 13.1 is the first workout of the open... a worldwide competition to see who is the fittest on earth!

Done with 13.1!!!!

Here is what I learned from my experience on 13.1.

- Never workout when you are sick. It's just the worst. I got the gastro thursday night and didn't eat at all friday and saturday, then did 13.1 on sunday morning. Bad idea. I told myself I didn't want to use it as an excuse, so I had to do the best I could, even if that meant puking mid WOD. Thankfully I didn't throw up. But I felt drunk, and couldn't see very well. Weird. Anyways, I'm glad I only had to do that once... So I settled for 154 reps.

- People get crazy competitive when it comes to the open. This scares me. People watch you just to know how you did, and shake your hand after and make comments that aren't necessary. Do people lie about their scores? I don't know, and I sure hope not. I trust people, but most of the time I get burned from their lies. And I feel like maybe people do lie about their scores, to prove other people that they are stronger, or faster or what ever the reason, it's a bad one. I just hope people don't lie about this. It's crossfit, it's a sport, calm the fuck down. Some people kick stuff around the gym when they're mad about their score... (you know who) And everybody asks everybody their score, but don't want to tell their own. People wait for the last minute to post their score online just to make a point (Kris Klever). And the craziest, is when you get competitive with yourself. That's just crazy. I got mad at myself for not getting between 160 and 170 reps. I felt like such a failure to myself. Why are we so hard on ourselves?

- Crossfit should be about having fun.

- I still hate burpees!!! Isn't that crazy ? But yes, it's true, I still fucking hate them.

- Stoping in a workout is not going to make you do more reps.

- When you think you can't do it, you won't be able to do it.

- There is a lot of stronger girls out there, that I didn't know about.

So now that I am wiser for 13.2, the question is how the hell am I going to attack this. Shoulder to over head, deadlifts and box jumps! My heart is going to be beating pretty damm fast! Who saw the Annie and Lindsey throw down? Holy molllllyyyyy, that was impressive. Annie is honestly my favourite. She's just so cute. Did you notice she was smiling near the end of the WOD, and making the crowd go wild ?? Love her! I think I'm going to go all out for 13.2 !

Annie and Lindsey!

Oh my god. I did my very first bear complex this week. Holy balls. That shit is hard ! I also did a bad re -racking on my neck. It hurt like a bitch. Re-racking scares me. And that is a fact.

So, I was practising my muscle ups this week, and I now have tears on my two wrists. Not fun. Thank you false grip.

Have you heard of butt implants? I have, just this week! That's pretty freaky. But I guess having a big butt is fun.

It's getting sunny and hot out! I am getting excited for many reasons:

-St-Patricks this sunday!( I think I'm Irish)
-Spring skiing (après-ski on a terrasse)
-Tanning (I need vitamine D)
-Running outside (who knew I'd get excited about this)
-Woding outside (that's cool)
-Wearing booty short again (hahahaha, if only)
-Summer
-Suns out, Guns out!
-Regionals!!!

I love mini eggs.

Pressure is on. 13.2.  Ready or not, Here I come. I'm coming after you and hunting you down....I'm so weird.

So, how cool is my gym... We are first in canada east for the most registrations! And we are also fourth in the world ! I think that's pretty awesome.

You know what else is awesome about my box... We have top masters! I already spoke about them, but the Open just proves to you all that we have some strong master athletes at Reebok Crossfit YUL. Rob, Gerry, Louise, Rich, Shelley, You kick some serious ass! I wish you all the best and I hope to see some more great performances during the Open! Best of luck, and don't forget to go H.A.M.

I can't sleep after working at the hospital... This is bad.

Guess what? I haven't had coffee in a week!!! I stopped because I was sick and I had thrown up every thing in my stomach, soo putting coffee in it sounded like a bad idea. Acid and acid together are no fun. So then I was like... Why don't I try living life without coffee, see how that goes! And it's been a week already, and I feel great. I have been drinking green tea instead, it's deeeelicious. I kind of like not drinking coffee... We shall see how long that stays!

I'm terribly sorry for letting you all know about my sickness, and how gross the details were!! Ewww Grosss! Get over it !

I want to WOD right now! it's 1 in the morning! Good job!

Have yourselves a beautiful day!!!

Spread the Love, Share this post!!!

  1. I can't do coffee. My nervous system hates it. I am, however, a tea addict. So much delicious tea, so little time... If you like green tea, try Sencha green tea (it's a type, not a brand). It has this delicious grassy flavour that is oh so delicious.

That's my problem with competition, is that lying to make yourself look stronger/faster/better. That and how awful you feel when you don't win. Or don't accomplish something. Anyway lying about your scores is hella stupid. I mean how are you going to improve if you can't be honest about where you're starting from?

I have to admit, I'm a booty shorts girl. I wear them often to train. Although I usually wear spandex bootie shorts over tights. Metal bar that you're doing tricks on + bare skin = so much no.

Oooh, did you know that you can buy butt pads, too? Like those fake breasts that you use to stuff a bra, but for your butt. Big butts are totally considered the thing to have, in some parts of the world. One must be proud of one's butt!

    As usual, looove your blog.
