Thursday blog day is officially back on track !
What a week! Training is tough this week. No more straps, and lot's of reps. The body is tired, on top of being a little sick. I caught a cold somewhere... Not sure where... maybe the hospital? probably not there....
Anyways.
Ou, guess what I did this week.
I went skiing! Yeah! Freeking love skiing! Wholy balls I love it! I mean there wasn't much to ski, only 2 runs open, but I felt like it was a good time to hit the slopes!
I ended up doing 7 runs. And that was enough. I didn't want to tire out my legs.
But it's after the first run that I realized that skiing and weightlifting aren't so different. Both sports are related to our nervous system. It's crazy.
I mean I haven't skied in maybe 8 months. And the first turn felt like I had never stopped. I did so many ski turns in my life that I can officially say that my body is so used to skiing, that it's something natural for me to do.
It's also funny how, no matter how many squats I do a day and how heavy they are, I will always feel my legs burn a little when I ski. Shit is cray !
It goes the same for weightlifting, the more you snatch, the more you clean&jerk, the more the reps are the same the more it will become part of you. And I am working on making weightlifting my second half, making weightlifting a part of me.
But I am far from that. I have much more bars to hit, much more snatching to do, much more jerks and much more cleans to do, before I can say that weightlifting is a part of me.
Competition mode is on my friends. No more straps, no more weight gaining, and no more fooling around. As if I fool around.... Jokes
I have new set goals for the competition in december. And I'm excited for them. And I'm ready to put in the extra effort and the extra time to make sure they happen.
