Filthy fifty Team Challenge

Well it's been a while!

And this crossfit experience is definatly worth talking about!

Over the weekend, me and my awesome teammates competed in our first team challenge as RX!

Holy balls, I don't think any of us expected it to be this fun and this challenging.

Team YUL :

Charles Felx-Leduc, Marc André Geoffrion, Danielle Goldman, Kate Geoffrion.

As individuals, we all have our strengths. Charles is super strong and really all around the best ( he won the individual competition the day before). Marc is the guy with amazing technique and he is smart when it comes to working out, on top of being strong and doing the work fast. Danielle, she is type of girl you want to be as a crossfitter, she is fast, lot's of stamina, a super gymnast and holy hell a strong girl. She is awesome. And as for myself, I love to lift weights, and that's my strength.

Over all, we are a pretty solid team. We never worked out all together, but we decided to try it anyways. I guess there's a first time for everything.

Oh Yeah and both boys competed the day before as individuals!

WOD 1:
4 rounds (each member of the team must do one round)
             25 thrusters (155/105pounds)
             800 m run.
20 minutes time cap.

We all agreed that this was THE worst WOD of the day. That run, was fucking awful. No jokes.  My legs were shaking for a good hour afterwards.

We finished 7th!

WOD 2:

Huge ass chipper.
The teams must be divided with mini team A, mini team B
 A team: Charles and Kate
 B team: Marc and Danielle

A: 30 Hang snatches (135/95pds)
B: 30 Muscle ups (fuck yeah, props to both of you, i'm impressed)
A: 60 toes to bar
B: 60 shoulder to over head (135/95pds)
A: 90 Box jumps (24'')
B: 180 Double Unders

Yes, that was the workout. That was fun. I'd personally like to thanks Charles for really giving it. You killed the T2B and the hang snatches!!!!
Oh yeah and did I mention D. doing 7 muscles ups in a row ?? Oh, shit and Marc fucking skipping the rope like it's his day job ?? Hell yeah ! GO TEAM YUL

We caught up on some positions, 5th place!

WOD 3: Clean and Jerk Ladder

Kate: 145 pds and attempted 155!!!

Danielle : 155pds and attempted 165!!! yeah, Damm girl, you're so strong!

Marc: 215pds and attempted 225!!!!! you beat your 205 from saturday! Hell Yeah!

Charles: 305pds!!!! attempted 315, missed and did it again and got it, but they didn't count it :( You are truly impressive buddy)!!! And we were telling everyone you were OUR teammate. (Suck it bitches)

Way to go TEAM!

we caught up again on some positions... we are now 4th !!!

Sooo we made it to the finals...

By then we were all sleeping and taking naps, it was sickening. We were sooooooo tired. It was ridiculous. We should of been freeking hyper, jumping around, being super excited about making it to the finals! Nop, we were the lazy team, taking snoozes and chilling like villains.

FINAL WOD:

Every individual had to do one round in a 20 minutes time cap!

20 calories row
10 power cleans (205/135pds)
20 burpees on to a plate
farmer walk 30 feet and back(or something like that)  ( I don't even know the weights haha)
20 Chest to bar pullups
10 front squats (205/135 pds)

Well, I was entering that WOD knowing I would stall on the chest to bar pull-ups, and end up not finishing the WOd. Because, I can barely do normal pull-ups and last time I did them in a competition I fucking fell off and moved my hip big time! Not so cool! So that was on my mind.

I was the last to go and once at my pull-ups, I decided I was going to them, as many as I could. Then Charles and my brother came up behind me and told me that if ever I fall, they would catch me. So I didn't have to worry about that. That was really reassuring.

My team was there, yelling after me to get back on the bar, my judge was encouraging me and pushing my limits. And then, all the other teams who finished came over and cheered me on.

Holy Ballz.

I did one chest to bar pullup at a time, and finished them all. All 20 of them (plus the no reps)!

But no, the workout was not finished... I still had 10 front squats to do in not so much time... tick tock, tick tock, time was running out, and I was running low on energy. Those pull-ups took everything I had!

I had all the support I could ever ask for. Everyone competing was there, pushing me. It was fucking amazing. True crossfit. True spirit. True love of the sport!

I finished that workout! Hell Yeah! And that was team work all the way!

We finished the day in fourth position over all, out of 14 teams. We had a blast, we did our true best, and it was an amazing experience!

Thanks to my amazing teammates!!!

Danielle, you are a true inspiration to me. You kick ass. You are amazing. And on top of you being an excellent crossfit athlete, you are a genuine awesome girl. I am lucky to have you as a friend. I love you!

Marc André, first you're my brother, so I have no choice but to love you! But then, you made me start crossfit, and by pushing me towards it, you have made me a better person, a better athlete, a better sister. Thank you. I look up to you everyday and I love you unconditionally!

Charles, holy ballz you impress me everyday. You are a true athlete, a good person, and you have a huge heart! Thanks for doing this competition with us, even though you didn't have to, since you are complete as an individual athlete. You kept our heads high throughout the day.  Keep doing what you do best ! I cannot wait for Carson next year. I'm your number one fan! love you dude!

Fun Times! Next stop.... Regionals??

Spread the love
