Well, you already guessed it, I will be talking about this beautiful weekend that just went by. Filled with competition, weights, barbells and sexy people!
Here's how the weekend went down.
1: UPT Crossfit killed the weightlifting competition. 7 people walked up on the podium and 4 gold medals were hanging around UPT's athletes: Phil, Cindy, Mike and Gab. The 85kg boys stole the show and were standing on the 3 steps of the podium.

2: Gabriel and Johanie filiatrault are strong. 19 years old, twins. Gab snatched 270pds and Jo missed all her snatches. But she came back with a bang and clean & jerked 275pds and made it to second place finish just with her C&J. Then Gab clean& jerked 365pds. It was crazy how the crowd got silent just before the lifts and then the crowd roared after the lifts were completed!!! Oh man, it gave me shivers. These kids are ones to watch!
3: This might seem really stupid to you, but I made weight! Which means, I lost weight and was able to compete in the 75kg category instead of the 75+ category. To me that was huge. I lost 14 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks! Crazy I know. But it was a lot of dedication and a very big mental game. That's probably my biggest accomplishment of the weekend! I was hungry! Don't worry I've already gained 4 pounds. The pizza was deeeeelicious!

4: I was able to lift all my bars, meaning my 3 snatches and my 3 clean&jerks. I Pr'd my snatch at 60 kg. And it felt great! I'm ready to snatch heavy now!!! Let's go. I also Pr'd my clean&jerk at 75kg. I'm pretty stoked about that, since I've been struggling a lot with my jerks lately! And guess what, it felt easy peasy! WOOT! Yeah, I'm ready for more!

5: I have the best friends in the world! I can't believe how many of my friends came out to cheer and check me lift in my stupid boom pants! You guys are awesome! Love you!

6: I fucking love crossfit competitions! It's just awesome! People are amazing! What they are able to go through in one day is unbelievable! I'm super impressed! And for the first time, I was glad I wasn't participating! I was happy to be watching and encouraging! I think I'm finally moving on to weightlifting.... Scary! But I'm happy to still be part of this amazing community!
7: People are sexy and I love it! Different shapes, different sizes and all super strong and healthy people! Always inspiring! I met this one girl "petite madame" who once wrote a comment on a post of mine: food porn. Her story is amazing, and very inspiring for a lot of women! Thanks for sharing! You rock!
8: Reevolve! You guys are dope! I love your gear and it's always nice to talk to you! You're doing an amazing job. Keep it up! Your french is definitely getting better....
9: Brother: you my friend are getting stronger and stronger. You are awesome! Love ya to death!
YUL : You guys are sick! I love you so much! Impressive to watch!

10: I would like to take the time, this opportunity to thank and congratulate my coaches: Ben, Max and Jason for an exceptionnal weekend! These guys, were on top all weekend long! They were the first to arrive and the last to leave! Ben and Max competed on saturday and podiumed, which tells me they aren't full of shit when they coach me, then they helped out pretty much everyone in the warm up area with their lifts. Jason, you kept everyone focused for their lifts and helped us all! Then sunday came and you guys really showed me and the entire crossfit community that even though the Box hasn't been open for a very long time, that we are truly like family. The UPT army is amazing and I'm very happy and proud to be part of it! So thank you for taking me under your wing and believing in me! Love you guys! But that's our little secret! "C'est où ça UPT"?
I guess it was a stupid awesome weekend eh! I love competitions they get me soo pumped and now I'm just ready to lift heavier and train harder. Training gets serious as of next week. Now were just fooling around doing crossfit, which is fun. I hit grace, PR'd my time, after 2 months of zero conditioning. haha. Then I did bear complex, that shit is gross! Now, maybe I'll hit Isabel or something. But crossfit makes me sore! I'm ready to go back to weightlifting!
I've learned a lot about myself this weekend. I realized that finishing 4th is sour. It sucks ass. Yes, I know it was my first weightlifting competition, but I'm competitive, and four is not my lucky number. So I know what to do, work hard, lift heavy and stay focused. I also realized that my skiing background and visualizing the race has helped me a whole lot in visualizing my lifts and channeling my nerves. I think were good, me and my nerves. We cope well together! But yes, lifting in front of people and judges is stressful! But I'm ready for the next one!!! Bring it!
